Nurturing: tapping into inherent talents, honing skills.

The people within our circles of influence especially the younger ones are not empty rather they are full of inherent talents, yet to be tapped potentials like sealed scrolls not blank slates eargerly waiting to unfold - layer by layer.

Our nurturing steps will thus be to read, look deeply to gain insights not necessarily rewrite the scrolls.

Each child, every young person, carries that unique spark -  a whisper of purpose etched into their very beings.

Our role as nurturers is not to impose a blueprint, but to gently reveal what is already there, like the patient unfolding of a sacred manuscript.

And yes, that takes discernment, intentional listening, and the art of quiet guiding — not overbearing, stifling re-direction.

True nurturing sees talent not as a thing to control, but as a seed to water - to bud, blossom and thrive.

🎨 A child who doodles on every available surface might just be the next visual storyteller.

πŸ› ️ The one who disassembles the radio might carry the mind of an inventor.

🎀 That “talkative” child? A communicator in the making!

But how easily we miss this when we rush to mold (to conform to our wishes) instead of keen observations to hone these talents.

The muracle happens when structure meets with freedom, when we offer the gift of exposure, teach character and values, and still allow the unfolding of natural inclinations. Let us think of this as making available the runway to strut almost effortlessly rather than the flight path of escape.

As African wisdom echoes:

> “Igi kan kΓ² lΓ¨ dΓ‘ igbo αΉ£e.”
A tree does not make a forest.

Indeed, It takes a village (community) not to dictate, project individual desires, but rather to surround, guide, encourage, and uplift our younger ones and each other.

So let us be that village - the support group.

Let us champion environments where gifts are noticed early, supported sincerely, and developed wisely. Where encouragement is loud, correction is firm but kind, and presence is non-negotiable.

In as much as sealed scrolls were never meant to gather dust, they are waiting to be read with love, revealed with care, and celebrated with so much joy.

πŸ’‘How would you nudge and help someone today to build on his/her inherent talent?

Care to share your thoughts/experiences on how best to enhance this narrative for wholesomeness and great sense of fulfillment?
