Nurturing with intentional Parenting
One of the foundational areas of nurturing is 'Parenting'.
So, much to say about parenting in the 21st Century with all the dynamics, changes both locally and internationally with the backdrop of different cultural beliefs and values.
Indeed, it is not about perfection rather it is all about presence.
- Whilst, parenting is not a race to raise the most accomplished child per se, it is more of a journey (albeit with twists and turns) to raise the most grounded, self-aware, kind-hearted and selfless human.
Yes, it is still very much possible (with some hard work, though) to raise a child who:
- speaks fluent Yoruba, French, Swahili or any of his/her native tongue, confident and grounded in the various ethnicities yet technological savvy - codes in Python, etc.
- honours elders, demonstrates empathy and readily innovates for the future.
- know where they are going based on the fact that they know whose they are.
Today’s parenting calls for more than just rules and routines, it is about
- mindfulness,
- cultural roots,
- empathy,
and learning to blend heritage with hashtags.
I wrote something close to my heart on nurturing with intention in a tech-filled world and I believe it will speak to yours too.
- Let us raise whole, well grounded humans, not just high performers.
- Let us build a great legacy with one intentional moment at a time.
Would love to hear your thoughts!

There is a growing almost intense concern (as recently shown on a few social media platforms) about the values by the younger generation especially in terms of being aloof, detached and cutting off family ties.
ReplyDeleteWhat has been your personal experience, observations, thoughts and recommended ways to address these - for more cohesion (family bonding in win-win situations) and healthy inter-personal relationships across the board?
